  • International flights arriving to Cape Town and departure flights from OR Tambo

  • Foreign airport taxes

  • Visa charges – It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of the required visa and other documentation required by the immigration departments of the countries visited.

  • Cost of mandatory travel and/or medical insurance

  • Excursions and meals not stipulated in the itinerary

  • Gratuities, drinks, laundry, telephone calls and items of a personal nature apart from those included on Rovos Rail.

Spend Three Nights in the beautiful “Mother City” of South Africa. Stay in the heart of Cape Town at the renowned V & A Waterfront before boarding the luxurious Rovos Rail coaches for your journey to Pretoria with a stopover at the home of Diamonds, Kimberley.

Day 1                      Fly directly to Cape Town International Airport.

Meet your Tour Director from Africa’s Child Safaris and transfer to the heart of Cape Town, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Check in to the beautifully located Commodore Hotel (or similar) for your 3 night stay with breakfast included.

Prepare for your included excursion to ascend Table Mountain in the late afternoon. Weather permitting.

Day 2                      Cape Winelands full day tour.

The Cape Winelands is a mere 30 minutes’ scenic drive from downtown Cape Town. We explore the sights of two historic towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

We visit three wine regions and taste the award winning wines on offer to end the day with a Master Wine Cheese pairing of eight estate wines and cheese created on the beautiful Fairview wine estate in the Paarl wine region.

 

Day 3                      A full day Private Tour around the Cape Peninsula and explore the Cape of Good Hope.

We follow the scenic Chapmans Peak drive to visit Cape Point Nature Reserve and The Cape of Good Hope.

A short drive along the False Bay shoreline takes us to African Penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

We have some of the best lunch locations with spectacular views and amazing menus available on the False Bay coastline to choose from for your lunch.

Following our lunch we follow the Table Mountain Range of mountains to Constantia, the oldest wine region in South Africa. We taste the great wines at Klein Constantia 9or similar) before continuing back to your hotel. Tonight you have the opportunity to dine at any one of the fine restaurants in the V&A Waterfront.

 

Day 4                      The luxury of Rovos Rail              

After your leisurely breakfast you will check out of the hotel and transfer to the Rovos Rail Welcome Lounge at the central railway station. The check in formalities for Rovos is done in real old colonial style while your luggage is transferred toyour beautiful suite on the luxurious train.

Once settled in your suite the train departs heading north towards Pretoria. Keep an eye out for the military Blockhouses built by the British to guard the strategic rail bridges along the route. Your first stop is for afternoon tea at the historic village of Matjiesfontein.

Day 5                      The luxury of Rovos Rail

Your luxury rail journey continues with a stop at Kimberley to explore the old diamond mining area as well as the Big Hole which is the largest hole on earth dug by man with hand tools in search of the elusive diamonds.

Day 6                      Pretoria & the Voortrekker Monument

Your luxury train eventually pulls into its own private station in the suburbs of Pretoria where you will disembark and meet your Tour Director from Africa’s Child Safaris. Once you leave the station you will do a tour of the city that includes the historical Union Buildings, Church Square and the Voortrekker Monument.

From the Voortrekker Monument we drive to the beautiful suburb of Irene to check in at the luxury Irene Country Lodge for the last night of your spectacular tour.

Day 7                      Departure from OR Tambo International Airport

                                Check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
